National Register of Historic Places: Plaques and Certificates
Handsome bronze National Register of Historic Places plaques and framable certificates are available for contributing residences in the Forest Hills Historic District. The Forest Hills Neighborhood recently became the newest Columbia neighborhood to be awarded this honor. You can download the Plaque Order Form online or learn if your home is a contributing residence.
Contributing residences are 50 years or older and have facades that have not been altered significantly. To determine if a property qualifies for a plaque or certificate, go to
www.nationalregister.sc.gov/richland/nrrichland.htm and select "Forest Hills Historic District." At the bottom of the nomination summary click on "View the complete nomination form." The list of contributing residences begins in Section 7, pg. 7 of the form, and residences are listed alphabetically by street.
If a property contributes to the Forest Hills Historic District,
complete the order form, and submit to the
SC Department of Archives and History. If you have questions, please call Mary McCants at 779-5205.
